Monaco Women Forum : Woman of the Year Award

Organized by journalist and entrepreneur Cinzia Sgambati Colman, the 7th Monaco Women Forum brought together major experts on March 24th 2024 for a debate on the theme of “Digital Convergence : the challenges of a connected and sustainable future”.

Every year, this international platform allows women and men, scientists, researchers, academics, members of international organizations or civil society, to discuss topics related to new technologies and finance.

The present experts addressed current technological and financial issues ranging from AI, to the mobility of the future, the security of the space sector, quantum computing to digital currencies or crypto assets. Discussions focused on the importance of sustainability and automation in shaping the future, the diversity of technology approaches, and the critical need for strong security measures in an increasingly hyperconnected world.

The Monte Carlo Woman of the Year Award was given to Professor Cordelia Schmid for her research work in the field of artificial intelligence, more specifically in visual recognition. The Special Woman of the Year award went to two scientists from the European Commission, Isabella Cerutti for her research on 5G and 6G, and Petra Scudo for her research in quantum physics. Louisette Lévy-Soussan Azzoaglio was also awarded as President of the charity “Action Innocence Monaco” which aims to protect children on the internet.
