Accreditation of Ambassadors

On Tuesday 15th January 2013, H.E. Mr Ali Ahani, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran and H.E. Mr Ric Lawson Wells, Ambassador of Australia, presented their Letters of Credence to H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince.

H.E. Mr Ali Ahani holds a Ph.D. in management. He began his career as editor of the economics section of the Islamic Republic newspaper. He then joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he pursued his professional career. He has been Ambassador of Iran to France since 13th January 2012, and was also Ambassador to Italy, accredited to Malta, Belgium, Luxembourg and the European Community.

A graduate of the University of Sydney, H.E. Mr Ric Lawson Wells joined the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in 1990, after serving as First Secretary at the Embassy of Australia in Indonesia. He is deputy Secretary-General at the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and also Ambassador to the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation.

The lunch given by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was an opportunity to discuss the diplomatic, cultural and economic relations that the Principality could develop with Australia. H.E. Mr Ali Ahani was unable to attend.
