12th edition of the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge 2025

Following its sustainability development and energy transition commitment, the Principality of Monaco has welcomed for the 12th edition the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge, organized in the monegasque waters by the Monaco Yacht Club.
This competition confronts the participants to a sailing and energy challenge. They, indeed, have to tackle their sailing boats with very innovative materials and alternative propulsion systems to reduce their environmental impact, meanwhile preserving their nautical performances.
Mixing sportive competition with avant-garde technological research, the competitors must exploit the offered solutions by the new technologies in order to the renewable energies (electricity, solar, hydro-gen) for driven boats thanks to new concepts or pragmatic and reasonable prototype.
The 12th Monaco Energy Boat Challenge edition has reunited more than 42 teams of 29 universities with more than 20 nationalities and 1000 students
The next participation at the 2026 challenge has already started. The coming challenge will also high-light the potential positive impact of these innovations towards the maritime industry and the environment
